March is Women’s History Month. Since this year’s theme is Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories, now is the perfect time to grab a book written by an amazing female author. From Toni Morrison to Jane Austen to Isabel Allende to Min Jin Lee, all these women have given voice to the joys and struggles in life relating to relationships, motherhood, sisterhood, work life balance (and imbalance) and sexual repression.

I have to say it has been a while since I sat down and read a book cover to cover.  I feel inspired to do that this month and will start with one of these:

Pachinko, Min Jin Lee – “several themes that mirror the reality of living for a poor Korean family – down to the systemic discrimination, maltreatment, and ostracism its members later face by being immigrants in a foreign country.”
We Should All Be Feminists, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie – “provocative essay on feminism and sexual politics”
Of Women and Salt, Gabriela Garcia – “A sweeping, masterful debut about a daughter’s fateful choice, a mother motivated by her own past, and a family legacy that begins in Cuba before either of them were born.”
All This Could Be Different, Sarah Thankam Mathews – “electrifying novel of a young immigrant building a life for herself—a warm, dazzling, and profound saga of queer love, friendship, work, and precarity in twenty-first century America”
