September Community Service Project
September 25 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm EDT
Please join us on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 as we provide a meal for the 50-70 families staying at The Children’s Inn at NIH. These family dinners allow The Inn residents to relax, while alleviating the worries of transportation, grocery shopping, and the hassle of preparing a meal after a long day of traveling or spending hours at the hospital with a sick child.
The Children’s Inn is a caring place to be—a place to relax with other families that are undergoing serious medical treatment. After long travels, families are often tired and ready for a home-cooked meal. The Inn invites different groups and organizations to provide a large meal for all of the families. This is also an opportunity for them to meet, mingle, and interact with other families, creating an environment of mutual support and caring.
The volunteers will prepare and serve the meal. The Community Services Committee is collecting monetary donations to cover the cost of the meals, if you’d like to donate please do so here.
Metro: closest Metro Stop is Medical Center
Parking: On-site parking is available
*Please note there is a very limited number of volunteers for the event. If you are not able to attend please cancel so that your spot may be filled.
