Congratulations Tony Scurry, President/CEO, 7 Pointe Planning – Star of the 4th Quarter 2021!
To recognize members who have given that “extra effort” as an active member of our chapter, the Member Recognition team established the “PCMA Volunteer of the quarter” a few years ago.
Tony serves on the Professional Development Committee and has most recently served as Event Champion for Q4 Spark in October 2021. He was responsible for overseeing the planning process and volunteer management for the event, our most challenging as it encompassed an innovative venue, The Garden, and it required full vaccination status to attend in person. Since all services were not under one roof, Tony had to coordinate with the chapter sponsorship committee, ACG, and other vendors to source outside companies for catering and AV. He configured meeting space to better suit our AV vendor, featured two unique caterers and handled a last minute speaker cancelation with 24 hours’ notice. Alongside PDC leadership, Tony came up with Plan B, Plan C, and Plan D and figured out a solution to fill the gap at a moment’s notice. This could have been a logistical nightmare, but Tony’s leadership and calm, cool demeanor helped us navigate a very difficult situation and make the outcome smooth and unknowing to attendees. He took every challenge in stride and helped lead a great team of volunteers to executing a successful event.
Tony was great at keeping on top of our ever-growing to-do list and kept us on track and organized throughout the process. Even amidst a busy season at his day job, he made volunteer for the PCMA Capital Chapter a priority and always fulfilled his promises.
