PCMA Capital Chapter’s Emerging Professionals Committee (EPC) is dedicated to the delivery of superior and innovative education and professional development opportunities to students and professionals with 0-5 years of experience.
Upcoming Roundtable Event:
August 23, 2017: 4:00 – 7:00 pm, The Embassy Row Hotel – Navigating Through Negotiations. This year’s program is meant to dive into the meaning of the clauses included in various vendor contracts and how to navigate through the negotiations of these clauses. You will have the opportunity to explore negotiations of five vendor topics: Audio Visual, Food & Beverage (Convention Center and Hotels), General Services Contract, Hotel, and Wifi (Convention Center and Hotel).
The Capital Chapter offers a robust mentoring program where like-minded industry professionals can join together one-on-one and make a difference. The goals of the program are to:
- To help increase confidence, knowledge and industry connections for protégés and mentors
- Foster interpersonal growth and self-enrichment
- Provides opportunity for mentors to give back and be more involved on a smaller scale
- Builds the PCMA and meeting planning community

The PCMA Capital Chapter Shadow Program is an resource provided by the Emerging Professionals Committee to assist students and emerging professionals to obtain targeted real-world experience through structured “shadowing” opportunities within the meetings & events industry. Opportunities will be available through the extensive PCMA membership consisting of planners, service vendors, convention and visitors bureaus and hotels.
