2020 Virtual Lunch & Learn Series: COVID-19 taught us one thing, it’s the importance of Advocacy

Advocacy takes many forms. Individuals may advocate for improved conditions in a nursing home. Groups may advocate for economic support for specific industries and most importantly, we may advocate for our own welfare. Throughout this pandemic there were specific calls to action for associations, individuals, groups to call and/or write to their elected officials to support recovery of the hospitality industry including airlines and hotels; provide low to no interest loans to small businesses and nonprofits and for associations to enlist their members, when applicable) to provide much needed frontline support. Now that we have seen these efforts in action and the results it has gained isn’t it time for you to get more involved in advocating for your community, your industry or your future? The PCMA Capital Chapter Advocacy Committee will lead the discussion on what you should be doing throughout the year as well as the importance of fulfilling your civic duty of voting not only in national elections but state and local as well.
