We Put the PRIDE in Meetings and Events

Author: Laurie Nelson-Choice | Visit Baltimore | PCMA CC DEI Committee Chair

This past Saturday members of the PCMA Capital Chapter marched in the Capital (DC) Pride Parade, an event that brought together thousands of individuals from diverse backgrounds to celebrate equality, and inclusivity.

As we marched through the streets of DC, surrounded by a sea of rainbow flags and cheering crowds, we felt a profound sense of unity and solidarity. The energy was palpable, and the overwhelming support from onlookers reaffirmed the importance of fighting for equal rights and acceptance for all.

The experience served as a powerful reminder that together, we can make a difference. By standing up and marching proudly, we sent a clear message of support to those who have faced marginalization, discrimination and violence because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the organizers, volunteers, and sponsors who made the DC Pride Parade possible and to our PCMA partners, the Westin Georgetown for hosting our pre-parade networking brunch and to Signs By Tomorrow Springfield for creating our banner.

Let us carry the spirit of Pride forward and continue to advocate for a more inclusive and accepting industry and society. Together, we can create a hospitality community where love and equality triumph over hate and discrimination.
